Purposeful Networking, Developing a Brand, and Using Social Networking Tools to Amplify That Brand You know you're supposed to be networking, but you always feel so shy and uncomfortable at the loud "networking events". You've put a few details about yourself on LinkedIn but aren’t sure what all this linking is going to do for you. You have a friend who is waxing eloquent about Twitter, and you don’t even know what Twitter is or why you might want to use it. This workshop begins with the essentials from our Networking that Works™ presentation and extends it with a detailed and practical exploration of the latest social networking tools. Relationships are the way we get things done, the fluid of delivery — both inside and outside the organization. If you believe this and want to know more, come to this overview of networking and personal branding. What you bring: a sense of your reputation, a knowledge of what values are important to you, and a desire to learn more about how to make your presence felt in reality as well as the online world. What we provide: an overview of how to reframe thinking about networking so it’s a purposeful and deliberate exercise, a review of LinkedIn as a required "resume of record," and a discussion of how some individuals are using Twitter and Facebook to enhance the conversation. This is an invigorating 3-hour workshop that clarifies a productive "networking mindset" and then explores how to build a powerful network not only in the real world but also online using tools like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.
